The Instructor of Musical Theatre Dance is a part-time faculty position in the Department of Theatre & Dance. Responsibilities include: teaching 14 credit hours annually, choreographic duties (for either Musical Theatre or Opera Converse) and coordinating the Dance Converse annual production; additional compensated choreographic opportunities exist for both Dance and Theatre Converse. This instructor will recruit and advise performance students in the areas of dance and musical theatre in the Department of Theatre & Dance. Successful candidates will have Dance/Musical Theatre related degree as well as professional experience. Experience in incorporating multimedia, other areas of design and technology, and professional affiliations are also welcome.
The mission of Converse College, founded in 1889, is the liberal education of undergraduate women in a residential setting. The Department of Theatre & Dance is located within the School of the Arts and supports BA degrees in Theatre and Musical Theatre and minor programs of study in Dance and Theatre.
